On the Storm going forward:
We’re going to keep playing to win. This will allow us to get better as the season progresses and we’re going to keep our heads up and maintain a positive attitude. Next time we see San Antonio we will be coming off of a week of practice and will have our heads in the game.
|
On the officiating:
We’re just going to roll with the punches. Sometimes the officials make great calls but others seem very questionable. Officials are human and they can make judgments only to the best of their ability.
On the Silver Stars:
San Antonio was a different team last year. I’m not going to compare them to what they are this year. The team is very much improved. They have players like
Becky Hammon, who is a great player. It’s always a great battle to play against her.
|
On the San Antonio offense:
26 assists on 33 baskets … from an offensive perspective, that’s pleasing to see. We had the ability to get the ball to the open people at the right time and made timely, consistent plays throughout the game.
On his team's fast-break success:
Our mobility is something people will have to deal with. We have a more mobile team. It’s a characteristic of this team and allows us to play more transition. Seattle is a very, very good transition team. They affected us, but we affected them back.
On
Erin Buescher's play:
She’s actually sick. It’s amazing how players perform in these situations. She’s a vital cog for us with her play off the bench. With her composure and athletic ability, she’s fun to watch.
|
On holding off the Storm's comeback:
This league is so good this year. This league is great; the teams are great. Everyone can come back and try to get a run. Seattle is one of the best teams in the league, but we have some great players. We have two players with championships, so we know what it takes to close a game out.
On Buescher:
She’s a great player. She has a lot of energy and she game everything she had tonight. She played great.
