2000: The Inaugural Season

May 3
The Seattle Storm commences its first training camp at the Sonics & Storm Training Facility, now The Furtado Center.

May 31
The Storm loses to the Sacramento Monarchs, 76-60, at ARCO Arena in the franchise’s inaugural regular season game. Katrina Hibbert scores the franchise’s first field goal.

June 1
In the first WNBA regular season game at KeyArena, the Storm loses to the three-time defending champion Houston Comets, 77-47. The Storm also introduces its mascot, Doppler.

June 9
After starting the season 0-4, the Storm captures its first-ever victory with a 67-62 win over the Charlotte Sting at the Charlotte Coliseum.

June 13
The Storm record its first-ever win at KeyArena with a dramatic 69-59 overtime victory over the Los Angeles Sparks.

July 5
Robin Threatt scores a team-record 24 points in Seattle’s 67-60 victory over the Minnesota Lynx at the Target Center.

August 9
The Storm finishes the season with a 6-26 record after a 79-46 loss to Sacramento at ARCO Arena. 142,594 Seattle fans saw the Storm in action in its first season.
