Diamond Excell is an 11-year-old Miami resident. Diamond was born without arms or shoulders, but has fought hard to beat the odds and achieve her dreams.
For starters, Diamond is an outstanding fifth-grade student enrolled in the gifted program at Myrtle Grove Elementary School and has been on the honor roll since first grade.
Diamond also recently won first place in the handicapped division of the U.S. Open karate tournament in Walt Disney World, and can write, eat, cook breakfast, type on the computer, pick out her laundry and help to burp her baby sister -- all by using her feet!
She's amazing, and on March 9 was fitted with a pair of bionic arms that will surely help her achieve even greater goals. Who knows, on day she may even hit a game-winning shot for the Miami SOL!
