Stacey Lovelace-Tolbert bio

Stacey Lovelace is no stranger to the Midwest. Growing up in Michigan and attending Purdue University, she has been here much of her life. Stacey comes to Chicago from the Minnesota Lynx.

Having played professional basketball in five different countries, Stacey is definitely brings experience to the table. Stacey was a standout college player, averaging 12.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game in 120 career games at Purdue. In 1995 she was a member of the Kodak All-American team and she helped the Boilermakers reach the NCAA Final Four in 1994. For the 2004-2005 season she was named Big Ten Player of the Year and team MVP. She was also named Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American.

Stacey played for the Villeneuve d’Ascq in the French League for the 2004/2005 season where she averaged 13.9 points per game and led the league in rebounds with an average of 8.3. She also played the previous season (2003/04) in the French league but for Calais. That year she averaged 17.6 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game. Before playing overseas, Stacey played 3 seasons with the ABL from 1996-1999. Her first two seasons there were with Atlanta and she finished her career for New England. In her ABL years, Stacey averaged 13.1 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game. She played in a total of 95 games in the ABL.

Stacey has played in 4 seasons with the WNBA. Before going to Europe she played with the Seattle Storm in 2000 and 2001. She came back to the league in 2004 to play for the Minnesota Lynx where she averaged 3.6 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. In 2005, still with the Lynx, Stacey averaged 6.2 points per game and 3.2 rebounds per game. Her best game was against the San Antonio Silver Stars, scoring 17 points, 15 of which were in the second half. Her big night helped lead her team to a 76-72 win.

Stacey is married to Brian Tolbert, her high school sweetheart, and they have a daughter Ryann. Brian is also a professional basketball player who has played in Israel. Stacey should find a lot to do in Chicago since one of her favorite things to do is shop for shoes and purses.
