Initially signed as a free agent by the New York Liberty, where she saw WNBA playoff action, Bernadette went on to play for the San Antonio Silver Stars in her second and third season in the WNBA.
Her international experience is vast, she has played ball for Area Ribera of the Italian Serie A1 League and the FIBA Europe Cup, ESBVA Lille Metropole of the French First Division and also the FIBA Europe Cup, Belgium, and Congo’s national team. She played college ball in Congo, where she grew up.
While playing for Italy in 2004-05 Bernadette ranked second in the league in points per game with 18.4 and rebounds with 11.0. In her Europe Cup games she ranked first in rebounds with 14.3 rpg and sixth in scoring with 18.5 PPG. 2003-04 marked the year where she played for France in the Europe Cup, again she was productive, averaging almost a double-double with 11.0 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.
In 2005 as a part of the San Antonio Silver Stars, Bernadette had 4.3 points per game and 2.4 rebounds per game; not bad for someone who didn’t start playing basketball until she was 19.
