SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio center Ruth Riley underwent successful surgery Friday to remove a bony growth from her right heel. Dr. Marque Allen of Sports Medicine Associates performed the surgery.
Recovery time is expected to take 4-6 weeks.
Holding the rare distinction of owning an NCAA Championship, Olympic Gold Medal and two WNBA titles, Riley has averaged 7.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game throughout her WNBA career. She ranks fifth all-time in WNBA history with 483 career blocks.
