Regular season play is coming to a conclusion for many of your favorite Lynx players, so we thought it'd be appropriate to see how things are going as they head down the stretch and into postseason play in their respective leagues.  Special thanks to Lynx stats guru Paul Swanson for providing much of the content.

Kelly Miller, Noelle Quinn and Spartak Moscow finished up play in the Cup of Russia Tournament this past weekend, falling in the championship game to UMMC (Ekaterinburg) on Friday.  Miller pitched in four points in the 70-64 defeat.  Spartak currently sit atop the Superleague regular standings at 15-1 with two games left to play. 

As of March 1, Miller holds averages of 6.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 15 games in Superleague play.  Quinn, who joined the team after earlier stints in Lithuania and the Bulgarian National Team, in four games is averaging 3.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 15.1 mpg.

In addition to its Superleague dominance, Spartak is still alive in EuroLeague action and will vie for its third-straight European title in early April when it takes on UMMC Ekaterinburg in Game One of the EuroLeague Final Four.

Spain

Candice Wiggins and Ros Casares captured its third straight Copa de la Reina Tournament championship this weekend, defeating Ibiza 65-60 on Sunday.  Wiggins averaged 8.4 points in the tournament, including a high of 12 points in the semi-final game against Olesa.  The Copa de la Reina Tournament is a knock-out tournament involving teams from the Liga Femenina, but is separate from the regular season standings.

After spending the first 3+ months of the WNBA offseason recovering from arthroscopic surgery on her right knee, the 2008 Sixth Woman of the Year headed overseas to Valencia, Spain, in mid-January to join Ros. As of March 9, in eight games in the Spanish League, Wiggins is averaging 9.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.6 steals in 20.8 mpg. Wiggins' Ros Casares squad is lapping the competition, posting a 20-1 record with five games remaining in regular season play.

Roneeka Hodges, acquired from Houston in the Dispersal Draft on Dec. 8, 2008, is currently playing for Rivas Ecópolis, where in eight games she is averaging 18.5 points while shooting 50% (55-of-110) from the field, including 48.3% (28-of-58) from long distance.  Rivas currently sits in third place with a 16-5 record.  Hodges and Rivas participated in the Copa de la Reina Tournament this past weekend, loosing its first game to Celta Indepo 74-65.  Hodges scored 16 points in defeat.

2009 free-agent LaToya Thomas, who the Lynx acquired from Detroit in 2008 in exchange for Shay Murphy, plays for Mann Filter Zaragoza, which sits towards the bottom of the league with a 5-16 record.  In 21 games, Thomas is averaging 14.9 points and 7.2 rebounds in 35.4 mpg.

Seimone Augustus' Galatasaray squad sits in the middle of the pack in the Turkish League standings at 10-6.  As of March 1, in 17 games, Augustus is averaging 16.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 32.0 mpg.  Augustus and Galatasaray have four regular season games remaining.

Galatasaray is also very much alive in EuroCup play, and will take on Russian power Dynamo Kursk this Thursday, March 12 in the EuroCup semifinals.  In 11 games in EuroCup play, Augustus is averaging 18.9 points, 4.7 rebounds while shooting 56.1% (92-of-164) from the field. 

After spending the first five months of the offseason back home in Wisconsin, Lynx guard Anna DeForge has just recently signed with Besiktas Cola Turka of the Turkish League.  DeForge made her debut Feb. 28, scoring 10 points and adding four rebounds in just under 27 minutes of play.  DeForge added 12 points in Besiktas' 79-73 win over Tarsus on Wednesday.

Nicky Anosike, Navonda Moore and Charde Houston all began the season in Israel, but only Charde Houston remains in the Israeli D1 League.  Newcomer LaToya Pringle is also making her mark in Israel, playing for Maccabi Ramat Hen.

Charde Houston's Raanana Hertzliva squad is currently alive in playoff action in the Israeli D1 League.  Houston and company have won their first two games, defeating Elizur Ramla 81-77 last Thursday, and Maccabi Ashdod 91-83 on Sunday.  In Sunday's eight-point win, Houston tallied 32 points, eight rebounds and three steals in 32 minutes. 

Houston got off to a tremendous start for Hertzliva before injuring her knee Dec. 23, which forced her to sit out six weeks.  Houston picked up where she left off, and in 15 regular-season games averaged 26.3 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game.  Houston's Raanana squad ended the regular season at 14-4, tied for second place in the standings. 

Newly-acquired LaToya Pringle is currently playing for Maccabi Ramat Hen in Israel, where, as of March 1, in 18 games she is averaging 17.5 points, 13.5 rebounds and 2.72 blocks per game.  Pringle's squad won its first round playoff game last Wednesday, defeating Maccabi Ashdod 90-79, but lost 58-93 to Electra Ramat Hasharon on Sunday.  Pringle tallied 10 points and eight rebounds in the loss.

Poland

After beginning her first season oversees in Israel, Nicky Anosike's travels brought her to Poland where she is now playing for AZS Gorzow of the Polish League.  As of March 1, in five games, Anosike is averaging 17.0 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game for AZS Gorzow.  Anosike has two weeks of regular season play remaining before postseason play begins.
