Lynx second-year guard Candice Wiggins, a veteran of USA Basketball competitions will once again represent the red, white and blue this fall as the U.S. begins preparations for the 2010 FIBA World Championships.
Wiggins, along with 13 other players, were selected on Tuesday to join Team USA as it prepares for the 2010 FIBA World Championships. This group of 14 players joins the eight players already selected for Team USA, including Lynx star Seimone Augustus, to make up the 22-player squad. Wiggins will train with the club in Washington, DC before hopefully continuing with the club to Ekaterinburg, Russia, where the USA will compete in the 2009 UMMC Ekaterinburg International Invitational. In addition to the Russian professional team UMMC Ekaterinburg, also competing in the tournament will be Euroleague professional teams MKB Euroleasing Sopron from Hungary and USK Praha from the Czech Republic. Only selected players from the Training Camp Roster will participate in the Tournament.
