"I just played the game, if there was an open shot, I just took it. That
is the way that we play, we try to force the tempo. Houston is always tough.
Whenever you have Tina (Thompson) and Tamecka Dixon, two players that are proven
mega stars, especially in Tina (Thompson), it is always going to be a tough
game. We knew it was going to be hard fought. It came down to the last minute,
we made a couple of plays and we won the game. When you can win ugly, it means
that you are starting to come together as a team."
The Mercury's Diana Taurasi on defeating Houston Tuesday night 76-74
"She really ignites them. She comes off the bench and gives them the push.
She's one the best sixth women in the League. She should be a starter. The only
reason why Kara's not starting is because they like to play pressure defense.
She could be a starter on any team in this League."
Seattle's Sue Bird on Sacramento's Kara Lawson coming off the bench
"We know what it takes to win games, and for us it takes a lot of energy
on the defensive end. It takes us playing together, passing the ball, just feeding
off of each other, just being explosive. Coach brought that to our attention
the first half, we played okay but it wasn't our level. It wasn't the way we
played basketball."
The Monarchs Chelsea Newton on going on a 9-0 run in the fourth quarter
of Sacramento's 82-76 win over Seattle.
"We're very confident because you have a lot of people doing a lot of
good things. Instead of just one, two or three, you have four five and six doing
what they're supposed to do too. No one's trying to do too much. Players are
here to do certain things and, when they com into the game, they're doing those
things. Jamie (Carey) is here to shoot threes and she's doing it well. Evanthia
(Maltsi) is coming in shooting and playing with confidence. Everyone is playing
with confidence and doing the things that they do well."

"It's good just to be able to be a part of the playoffs, not going through

part of it.''

New York's Erin Thorn on the Liberty snapping a seven game losing streak

"It's frustrating
When you fight and come up short, it is that much
more frustrating. The key thing is we did not give in and give up."
Minnesota's Seimone Augustus on Sunday's 80-77 loss to Houston to
the Associated Press
"This doesn't necessarily mean she's coming back; she just worked out
with us...But I think it was good for us. Nobody said anything, but I think
the other players really enjoyed seeing her, and having her out there again."

It's hard these days. There's
