Houston Comets Forward Latasha Byears Suffers Toe Fracture

HOUSTON (May 14, 2008) – Houston Comets Head Coach and General Manager Karleen Thompson announced that forward Latasha Byears is out six to eight weeks due to a great toe fracture on her right foot.

Byears was first signed by the Houston Comets on April 22, 2007 and re-signed with the team on March 11, 2008. An aggressive defender who has been a member of the Sacramento Monarchs, Los Angeles Sparks and the Washington Mystics, Byears holds career averages of 8.0 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per game. Byears was first signed as a developmental player and assigned to the Monarchs on May 27, 1997.
