HOUSTON (April 21, 2008) – The Houston Comets have begun 2008 training camp at Memorial Hermann/HBU Wellness Center. Houston Comets Head Coach & General Manager Karleen Thompson, newly appointed assistant coach Laurie Byrd and returning assistant coach Ryan Weisenberg welcome Comets players Tamecka Dixon, Ashley Shields and Crystal Smith, free agent Mwadi Mabika and the recently acquired Megan Mahoney to training camp. Also in attendance will be 2008 draft picks Matee Ajavon (5th overall), Erica White (17th overall) and Crystal Kelly (31st overall).

Players who will join camp at a later date are Shannon Johnson, Sancho Lyttle, Hamchétou Maïga-Ba, Michelle Snow, Tina Thompson and Mistie Williams.
